CQR Dallas was in charge of transporting the luxury vehicles to Hawaii for a club rally
1 Trade’s improved capabilities were recently noticed by Boardwalk Ferrari in Plano who asked 1 Trade to move 11 luxury vehicles to Hawaii for a club rally. Everything from the initial inland pick up, ocean transport, and delivery in Maui and back to Dallas was handled by 1 Trade, including full responsibility for the total value of the vehicles.
“We know it isn’t easy to move that many luxury vehicles without incident all the way to Hawaii and back,” said Julie Summers, Event Coordinator of Boardwalk Ferrari in Plano. “1 Trade made the process smooth and efficient with their professionalism and continued communication. We couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out.”
Juan Arango, Co-Founder and VP of Operations at 1 Trade Logistics, said it was a fun project to be part of. “It’s a lot of fun to move Ferraris to Hawaii – I’m not going to lie – it doesn’t get much better than that. But whether we’re moving Ferraris to Maui or nuts and bolts to São Paulo we take the same care to make sure our clients are happy. Customer service is our #1 top priority – it’s who we are and it’s why we keep growing.”
Three cheers for 1 Trade Logistics for their outstanding achievements!

Conqueror’s 7th Annual Meeting has been an all out success. Nearly 130 freight forwarders representing more than 100 cities came together at the Intercontinental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, where they bolstered their business activities by meeting their fellow Conqueror agents while deliberating on future projects and industry defining issues.
The tremendous success of the last six CQR Annual Meetings was one of the major factors leading to the terrific turn-up at the 2018 event. The Annual Meeting highlights included a warm cocktail reception and a merry dinner party which gave the delegates a chance to indulge in some fun and frolick. The meeting obviously provided ample networking opportunities with the scheduled one-to-one meetings of the agents along with the informal business talks held in course of the lunch, dinner and coffee breaks.
During the meeting, all the members were given a personal demonstration of Conqueror’s new online tool – the Freight Rate Management Software which enables the members to come up with instant online door to door quotations for their clients and partners. Conqueror Dallas also upgrades their truck fleet and expands their office staff to better handle their growing client base
1 Trade Logistics relocates to a 25,000 SF facility at 1215 Metroplace Dr, Suite 400, DFW Airport, thereby expanding their warehousing capabilities substantially. The warehouse has a newly implemented and fully automated inventory management system to expand capabilities for client needs. The move to the new facility was largely prompted by their need to expand their warehousing capabilities so as to accommodate their expanding truck fleet as well as customer supply chain requirements. 1 Trade’s relocation to the larger facility coincides with an upgraded fleet of Peterbilt 579 Ultraloft trucks with electronic logging and tracking capabilities. The 579s improve reliability, fuel efficiency, and enhance driver productivity.
In the words of Andres Gamboa, CFO of 1 Trade Logistics, “Our new facility is inside DFW Airport, which is a major transportation hub in the center of the United States. Now we can promptly ship to domestic and international destinations.” Sol Arango, Co-Founder and President of CQR Dallas has commented that “It’s important – as a company – to keep growing, to keep providing improved opportunities for both our clients and our employees. The new facility brings new potential for warehousing, staff, and clients. We’re excited to continue to make it happen in bigger and better ways.”

MGC Transitarios LDA, a company with almost 27 years of experience in the market, has grown by more than 30% in the last year. This has been a considerable achievement for the company and they are rewarding their entire team by sharing 25% of the company’s profit with their staff. Although this is something they do every year, it is even more special now since this is the best year they’ve had since their very foundation.

This week we had a chat with Dwayne Caruana, Senior Logistics Manager of Carmelo Caruana- our Conqueror member in Valletta, Malta, who tells us about his experiences in the logistics sector, the achievements of his company and more.
Q. When and how did you get into the freight forwarding industry?
A. My career started 22 years ago as a junior runner with a customs brokerage agency. After a couple of years, I engaged with Carmelo Caruana Co Ltd as third-party agents to CMA-CGM and other major shipping lines. I had a short spell with a marine intelligence anti-piracy firm before joining a major Spanish ferry company representing a ship chartering subsidiary in Malta. Today I find myself back at Carmelo Caruana Co Ltd, Malta, managing their freight forwarding division.
Q. Give us a few examples of cargoes that you have handled either with your base being in Malta or via Malta to other destinations.
A. We have handled a pipe laying logistical project between Libya and Italy, and we have handled perishables such as fruit and vegetables, valuable cargo and hazardous cargo such as chemicals. Moreover, our teams have been entrusted with the transportation of turbines, large storage tanks, yachts, industrial steel wire reels, industrial reactors for the Valletta breakwater bridge, the new LNG power station at Marsaxlokk port and for international yachting events organized locally, among others.
Q. What distinguishes Carmelo Caruana from other freight forwarders in your city?
A. We consider ourselves a one-stop shop. We can cover all logistical needs our clients might have, being it sea freight ( FCL/LCL/FTL/LTL/OOG cargo ) with weekly dedicated services, airfreight and customs clearance, storage and warehousing fulfilment services, ship agency, port operations, ship to ship rendering operations, commodity transfer, passenger services and more. We can engage in air charter and project cargo at clients’ request since we have personnel with extensive experience in these areas.
Q. How did you hear about Conqueror? What most attracted you to us?
A. Conqueror was first found online by CCCL. Apart from the wide network and agent coverage, the professionalism experienced through dialogue is what attracted us most.
Q. Where do you see Carmelo Caruana Co LTD in 10 years?
A. CCCL strives for reputation and growth. Since we already consider ourselves key players in logistics both locally and abroad we believe our professionalism and integrity could possibly take us into the maritime sector locally and/or overseas.
Expand your businesses, reduce costs and risks, and compete on more equal terms against the largest international companies
