independent freight agent
One company benefitting from this new status quo is CQR Klaipeda (JSC Baltic Marine) who recently took responsibility for shipping six water filters from Liban via Klaipeda to Yangon.
The team carried out an end to end service with upgrade, paint covering, customs formalities, loading, lashing, securing to name but a few of the tasks. The water filters were loaded onto two flat-racks and shipped by OOCL. The team were responsible for making the upgrade at the customer’s request in Klaipeda prior to the onward journey to Yangon.
When asked if there were any particular challenges to this shipment, Mantas Sakalauskas General Manager told us that, ‘Choosing the correct covering for the filters was crucial firstly to avoid any potential scratches. But also something which could cope with the climate it would be going to, the tropics! Any water on the paint would of course risk corrosion.’
Of course while this was a challenge it was not an unbeatable one for the JSC Baltic Marine and the 6 water filters were successfully delivered on May Day.
From across 63 countries, 117 members of the industry’s only network of audited partners, Conqueror Freight Network, gathered for its 3rd Annual Meeting, 9th – 11th May
The Intercontinental, Kuala Lumpur provided the setting for the 3rd Annual Conqueror Meeting, hosting 117 agents from across 63 countries who were all their to assist each other in driving forward their businesses in pursuit of conquering the world.
“Co-operation is one important element in our triad of tools for boosting the business volume of our members; another is our city-exclusivity, like the multinationals, and the third and most important is our annual meeting. As you can see, members are making the most of their individual meetings as well as competing for each other’s attention away from them,” explained Antonio Torres, Managing Director of Conqueror Freight Network.
MALAYSIA – WORLDWIDE – The third annual meeting of the Conqueror Freight Network in Kuala Lumpur earlier this month saw 117 members from 63 countries gather to celebrate the success of what has been called ‘the new kid on the block’ which now covers 214 cities in 105 countries by way of its audited partners. The network now boasts a combined annual turnover of $2.2 billion employing over 17,000 freight professionals who handle over a million shipments each year comprising 175.000 tons of airfreight cargo and 600,000 TEU of ocean borne cargo, which Conqueror says makes it a top ten player in the global market.
“With only 1 in every 10 applications passing our selection process, reaching such a milestone is not as easy as you may think. We have worked hard to find only the best agents for the network and removing any company found to be only taking shipments and not offering any. Marketing can be incredibly costly to independent companies and yet they cannot allow themselves to become stagnant in this area which is why we try to assist our members as much as we can. We want to give our agents the tools to compete in an ever competitive global market. Our third meeting has seen an increase of 31% in territories represented. I don’t think I need say anymore!”
In addition to the 2000 one to one meetings on offer, delegates at the recent event were treated to the latest phase in Conqueror’s strategy for helping its members better market themselves against the multinationals, which began last year with a personalised member brochure. This year saw the launch of a personalised member website, of which the designing costs will be completely absorbed by the network. Antonio Torres, Managing Director of the Conqueror Freight Network, commented:

Conqueror’s exclusive agent in 6 cities across Turkey, has been awarded the Green Office Diploma by WWF – Turkey (World Wildlife Fund for Nature)
international logistics service provider
The Green Office program, a savings and improvement program for offices, comes into prominence as a part of the strategic approach of the WWF to reduce human pressure and ecological footprint on natural resources. The program provides participating companies with the opportunity to evaluate their office resources systematically, identify their savings criteria and develop their own environmental management systems. The awarding of this diploma to CQR Turkey breaks new ground in our industry; they are the first such company to receive it.
“We are thrilled to be declared a Green Office. For a long time now, we have been concerned with the environment and our own impact on it which is why we plan and implement improvements with respect to the savings on waste management, electricity consumption and paper consumption. We also believe that we should educate our staff in such matters as well,” explained Agent Coordinator, Devrim Koray.
Conqueror would like to congratulate Ekol on this recognition!

The delay of even one package would have caused hundreds of thousands euros loss to their client. In order to meet the short deadline, the team was available around the clock picking up the packages from their factory even; yes, even during the night.
The team was very flexible and used different solutions in order to deliver the shipments on time – on board courier, charter flights, next flight out emergency service, prepaid capacity of the airlines, dedicated couriers for pick-ups and deliveries, exclusive support of ground handling agents to ensure handling during the night, etc. Thanks to their good business relations with the carriers and the airlines, as well as their proven record in the three point traffic, none of the shipments was delayed.
“The client was satisfied by our services and we managed to establish good long term business relations with him,” said Adriana Damianova, Director Business Development, she continued, “we would invite any members with urgent cargo who are looking for a reliable partner who is attentive to details and will deliver in a timely manner, to get in touch with us. Due to our experience and knowhow, we can support you with solutions for triangle shipments also. We are available 24/7 and will find the best solution for you because we just take it personally.”
