A Tremendous Feat for CQR Cairo

In June 2012 CQR Cairo was chosen to transport a shipment of petroleum equipment from Egypt to Houston in the United States. What makes this story more interesting is that a decade earlier the MGL team had shipped the exact same cargo to the US as a brand new piece of equipment. It fell back into their hands this year, in a slightly older state, to be shipped back to the US on an Air France Freighter after some renovations were carried out in Egypt.

The dimensions of this cargo were as follows 200cm x 200cm x 230 cm, weight 4300 kg.

Marc Gharabawi, MGL’s Director, told CQR Head Office that, “Despite the competition for this kind of shipment, we have created strong relationships with most airlines meaning that MGL is the popular choice as a subcontractor for petroleum companies in Cairo.”

CQR Lima crushes its rivals with its project cargo capabilities

In April 2012, CQR Lima  was chosen to handle the shipment of a mineral crusher from Callao, Peru to San Antonio, Chile by the international engineering company, Sandvik del Peru

As well as being of a colossal size, a mineral crusher with its magnet is also a colossal weight. In this case 51 tons! It is obvious from the pictures that it is a self-propelled shipment and the best way to move a shipment like this is by Ro/Ro, which is exac tly what International Freight logistics companies and suppliersShipping SAC (IFS) did with the shipping line Transmeridian.

IFS explained to CQR Head Office that the shipping of a mineral crusher doesn’t come along all that often, however the shipping of project cargo does. Project Cargo is one area, along with LCL and FCL that CQR Lima specialises in.

CQR Seoul has nerves of steel

CQR Seoul was selected to ship an oversize shipment of steel tubes from Kwangyang, Korea to Mawan, China

Due to its reputation as a provider of all-encompassing break-bulk services, Daewon Logipia was given the task of handling every aspect of the loading and discharging of this cargo.

They provided lashing, shore cranes and their own stevedores, both dockside and shipside to load the tubes onto a chartered Chinese shipping line vessel before the final leg of the journey to Mawan. This is evidence that there really is no cargo that CQR Seoul’s team of 35 cannot handle.

CQR Bangkok ships set blow moulding machine to the USA

In April and May 2012 CQR Bangkok was selected to ship a Set Blow Moulding Machine Type SBG 700 Double Station from Petchaburi, Thailand via the port of Laem Chabang to Baltimore in the United States

independent freight agentPrior to transportation to the port of Laem Chabang, the cargo was carefully loaded onto flat-bed trucks and covered with poly-woven covering for added protection by the CQR Bangkok team. Once at the port the cargo was shipped by Hapag Lloyd to the United States.

No shipment too big for CQR Dubai

On June 10th this year, CQR Dubai was chosen to ship a hydraulic power pack unit and the genset from the JEA to Argentina. The highly trained Reliance team, well-experienced at handling complex jobs, put their heads together and came up with a tailor made plan to move these monsters!

Before any transporting could take place, CQR Dubai dismantled and divided the cargo into standardized transportable sizes and packed it into 2 x 40 OT + 1 x 20 OT + 1 x 20 DC. These were then shipped with Maersk line to Argentina. Once again Reliance Freight Systems has successfully shown itself to be living up to its own claim as the ‘one stop of total logistics solutions.’

Wine and spirits are the order of the day for CQR Hong Kong

Conqueror is pleased to announce that CQR Hong Kong, The Janel Group of Hong Kong Limited, has once again been appointed as the official forwarder for the Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit Fair 2012 being held between November 8th and 10th, 2012

CQR Hong Kong was the clear choice for this role due to its expertise and years in the wine industry. As well as the run of the mill logistics services, The Janel Group offers its clients specialized wine related services; including the storage of wine in temperature controlled warehouses.

Of their role at the fair Managing Director Paul Tsiu said, “We will be providing a duty exemption program for exhibitors on spirits which have an alcohol content of over 30%. In addition we will be running logistics services and support to them at all times.”
The Hong Kong Trader publication has also picked up on the abilities of the Janel Group to handle wines and spirits.

Conqueror’s agent in Istanbul given prestigious European ECO Performance Awards 2012

Ekol Logistics, one of the largest logistics firms in Turkey and Europe, has received the European Eco Performance Award 2012, which was presented at a ceremony in Hamburg, Germany in May

The 1st Conqueror Annual Meeting was extremely well attended. In fact, for a first conference the number of delegates was outstanding. With 90 members in attendance taking part in 1600 one to ones, Conqueror far exceeded expectations. The three day conference in Phuket, May 2012 brought Conqueror’s members together for the first time and new relationships were formed and business done.
